Nokian launches its new Surpass range!

The tire industry continues to evolve, sometimes even faster than the automobile industry. This time, we turn to the Finnish manufacturer Nokian Tires to welcome its new product, the Surpass AS01, an Ultra High Performance (UHP) All-weather tire, meaning it is "certified" for both winter and summer conditions.
Although the Scandinavian brand is not always recognized for its UHP product line (mainly its z-Line) as much as for its winter tires, it has built an excellent reputation for successfully combining the principles of an outstanding so-called "all-season" tire (which generally does not feature the mountain silhouette with a snowflake in its center, making it "legal" for winter use in some parts of the world, such as Quebec) with the unique characteristics of a winter tire. This led to the creation of the well-known WRG5 lineup.
Now, Nokian takes things a step further with its new Surpass AS01 tire, a UHP product that combines the characteristics and performance of an ultra-high-performance tire (increasingly seen as original equipment on high-end cars and SUVs) with those of all-season tires certified for winter use (thus bearing the appropriate logo). Additionally, Nokian has incorporated new advantages, including a construction featuring aramid fibers that not only resist punctures but also impacts from potholes. Finally, the manufacturer offers this new tire with a 90,000-kilometer warranty. Another interesting detail—like many other Nokian products, the new Surpass AS01 features tread wear indicators engraved in the tread pattern, helping technicians or even users monitor their tire wear.
The Nokian Surpass AS01 tire will arrive at tire retailers in January 2025, initially available in 65 sizes for rims ranging from 16 to 21 inches. It is primarily aimed at owners or drivers of high-performance passenger cars, premium SUVs, and even electric vehicles. We will soon have a report on the launch of this tire.
