At the ICAR track in Mirabel, Quebec, the Italian tire manufacturer Pirelli unveiled and tested its new ICE FRICTION winter tire, designed to deliver optimal performance on ice.

Several sizes of this tire feature ELECT technology, specifically adapted for electric vehicles. This technology stands out with the PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System), which reduces noise penetration into the cabin.

The ICE FRICTION also benefits from new rubber compounds, two of which are integrated into the tread. The first, the most visible, is softer to improve the grip on ice and provide a smoother ride. The second, less apparent, forms the base of the tread and is more rigid to ensure better road handling.

The ICE FRICTION will soon be available in 46 sizes, including 22 with ELECT technology, both in Canada and other Nordic countries.
