Toyota determined to stay in Canada

According to the specialized publication Automotive News Canada, Japanese automaker Toyota is determined to maintain its operations in Canada despite the tariff threats imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
This information comes from the new President and CEO of Toyota Canada Inc., Cyril Dimitris, who states that trade between Canada and the United States is "[translation] very balanced and works very well." Careful not to react hastily, Dimitris, who oversaw sales and marketing for the brand in Canada until January 1, 2025, before becoming CEO in place of Larry Hutcherson, who retired, spoke on the matter at the recent Toronto Auto Show.
"[Translation] And if these tariffs were to materialize, we would take the time to analyze them and assess their impact on the industry and our customers," he concluded.
